Ryan Gift Benefits Professorship and Entrepreneurship

Two areas of the University have received a significant boost through the generosity of loyal alumni. Patrick L. and Debra (Scheetz) Ryan visited campus Jan. 15 to present $500,000 to Bowling Green. Half of the gift will double the Patrick L. and Debra Ryan Endowed Professorship in Biology, which they established in 2001. The other half will help develop the entrepreneurship program in the College of Business Administration. The Ryans, of Wadsworth, Ohio, are both 1974 BGSU graduates. Patrick's degree is in accounting and Debra's is in biology. Read more.

New Houston Alumni Chapter Leader

Welcome to the new Houston Alumni Chapter leader - Kathryn Weller '71. Kathryn will be organizing events for Houston area alumni during 2004. If you would like to become more involved in the Houston alumni chapter, e-mail Kathryn at kjweller@houston.rr.com with any ideas you may have.

Business college marks 50th year of accreditation

AACSB-International, the Association to Advance College Schools of Business, has reaffirmed accreditation of undergraduate and master’s degree programs offered by the Bowling Green State University College of Business Administration. The college, which has been accredited by the AACSB since 1954, is among fewer than 400 business schools in the United States to be accredited on both the undergraduate and graduate levels by the organization. BGSU Shines on Broadway at the Mamma Mia Production

Please join fellow alumni on March 6 for a pre-show dinner at Rosie O'Grady's in New York, the famous Mamma Mia production on Broadway and a chance to meet the cast with a special backstage tour. Judge Ellen Connally Donates to Cuyahoga County Black Alumni Chapter

Newly retired Cleveland Municipal Judge Ellen Connally, recently donated a significant amount of money to the Cuyahoga County Black Alumni Chapter Scholarship fund. The money came from the the retirement party thrown for Ellen in the fall. Ellen, a 1967 BGSU graduate, served on the University's Board of Trustees from 1988 -1996. Upon receipt of the donation, chapter leader, Walter Bettis announced that the scholarship fund would be renamed to the Ellen Connally Scholarship in 2004.
