MAC Bash 2004

Join the BGSU Alumni Association Thursday, March 11 at Gund Arena in Cleveland for the MAC Basketball Tournament. The Alumni Association's festivities will begin two hours prior to tip-off* for either or both of the men's and women's games. There will be comments from BGSU Athletic Director Paul Krebs, guest appearances by Frieda Falcon and the BGSU cheerleaders, appetizers and a cash bar, basketball trivia, giveaways and FUN! Cost is $10 per person.

WBGU-PBS Bright Ideas Campaign Donation

For 35 years, families in northwest and west central Ohio, southeast Michigan and northeast Indiana have tuned into WBGU-PBS for high-quality educational programming. In support of the station's Bright Ideas Campaign, an anonymous donor recently contributed $500,000 to continue impressive award-winning educational successes. The Bright Ideas Campaign combines annual and capital fund-raising efforts to raise $8 million to harness the power of digital technology and educational entertainment opportunities. 2004 Accomplished Graduate Program

The Bowling Green State University community is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of 24 alumni through the Best of BGSU Accomplished Graduate Award. This award is established in the belief that high quality contributions, whether made through professional practice or through service to the community, reflect positively on the graduate and the University. The Best of BG celebrates the excellence of the university community, creating and nurturing connections with faculty, staff, students and alumni through activities on and off campus. SICSIC and Mascots Help the American Heart Association

Thank you to the alumni SICSIC members and mascots who helped the current members of both groups raise $560 for the American Heart Association. SICSIC and Freddie and Frieda participated in the Wood County Heart Walk on Saturday 14 February 2004 and entertained the other participants as only they can.

Homecoming 2004!

Dance Marathon Set for March 27 and 28

Hello DM Alumni! Dance Marathon is quickly approaching! DM is March 27 and 28 with opening ceremonies starting at 10:00 p.m.! The Student Alumni Relations Committee has organized a lunch for you at Easy Street Cafe from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The cost is $12.00 per person. If you would like to attend or have any questions please email Alissa Erford at leigher@bgsu.edu. We look forward to seeing many of you back on campus for this historical event!

Falcons Own Top GPA in Country

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced the recipient of the 2002-03 AVCA Team Academic Award, and the Bowling Green State University volleyball team placed atop the list. Of the 327 Division I volleyball programs, the Falcons' grade point average of 3.61 was tops in the country. Read more.

$1 Million Gift

A $1 million gift will provide Bowling Green State University with private support for entrepreneurial studies, the intercollegiate golf program and an initiative to make values exploration part of every student's experience. The gift from Ronald R. Whitehouse, a 1967 graduate, and his wife, Carol Sue (Lee) Whitehouse, who also attended BGSU, was announced Friday, February 20 in Naples, Florida. Longtime supporters of the University, they have designated that the funds support programs in keeping with what has played important roles in their own lives. www.bgsu.edu/offices/pr/monitor

New San Diego and Orange County Alumni Chapter Leaders

A special welcome goes to Mike Sanoian '85 and Kristin Martin '94 who will now serve as leaders for the San Diego alumni chapter. Carrie Damschroder has taken the lead for the Orange County, California chapter and has already scheduled the chapter's first event - a coffee chat on May 11th. Men's Chorus Concert, Winterhaven, Florida Time Change

There has been a change in the time of the Winterhaven, Florida Men's Chorus Concert on Monday, March 8. The concert will now begin at 7:00 p.m., instead of 7:30 p.m. as originally scheduled. Please make note of the change and we hope to see you in Winterhaven at Hope Presbyterian Church, located at 2110 Cypress Gardens Blvd.

ZBT Reunion - Decade of the Fifties

A reunion will be held May 21-23 at Elysee Hotel, located at 65 East 54th Street in the heart of Manhattan. Beta Eta's classes of 1950-1960 should plan on attending this weekend reunion in New York City. Wives and significant others are welcome to attend. Formal arrangements include dinners at local restaurants and cocktail hours both evenings. During the day, make your own itinerary to visit local shops, see a Broadway show or tour a museum.
