With May 11-12
fast approaching, it is last call for registration to attend the BGSU
Volunteer Leaders Conference. The conference, entitled BG & You,
will bring together some of the most dynamic individuals in the
University's volunteer leaders network to exchange ideas and best
practices. John Meier '70, CEO and chair of Libbey Inc., and a
well-known volunteer in northwest Ohio, will be the featured keynote

Denise Dartt
leads Alumni Board
Denise Dartt '75 is current chair of the BGSU Alumni Association
Board of Directors. She is judge for the Lucas County (Ohio) Common
Pleas Court and previously served as judge in the Toledo Municipal
Court from 1985-2004. Click

Firelands leadership changes
After six
years as dean of BGSU Firelands, Dr. James Michael Smith of Fremont
is leaving that post July 1 to work full time as vice president for
economic development and regional growth at the main campus. For the

Libraries honored for innovation
Innovative
Interfaces Inc. has named University Libraries a winner of a Be
Innovative! Award. The libraries' use of a product from the
Emeryville, Calif.-based company earned a second place in the Most
Innovative Use of e-Resource Products category. Click

Support
blossoms for Spring Celebration
The Building Dreams Spring Celebration
weekend was a huge success at bringing together more than 1,300 alumni
and friends in support of the Building Dreams Campaign. Among the
featured programs was the fourth annual Sebo Entrepreneur Series,
focused on "Entrepreneurial thinking: The catalyst for business
growth;" the Willa Cather readings on Saturday afternoon by
honored guest Eva Marie Saint '46 and her husband, noted director
Jeffrey Hayden; and the 40th anniversary of the William T. Jerome
Library, featuring the sale of Oprah's Little Black Dress. The
library event netted $23,000 that will be added to the $120 million
Building Dreams Campaign. To date, more than $110 million has been
raised in the campaign. |
