BGSU tied to gender equity law through Elizabeth Boyer '37
The landmark gender equity legislation known as Title IX was enacted 40 years ago. For nearly 38 of those years, few people were cognizant of BGSU's connection to the law that prohibits sex discrimination against students and employees in educational institutions.
BGSU lauded again in U.S. News 'America's Best Colleges'
For the seventh straight year, BGSU has been recognized for its focus on the undergraduate experience in U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best Colleges." The University remained in the Top Tier of public universities in the country and was recognized for excellence in first-year-experience programs in the magazine's 2013 edition.
Student leaders kickoff Legacy Campaign
A core group of student leaders pledged to donate $5,000 of their own money to the University as part of the kickoff of the first Student Legacy Campaign, a student-driven philanthropic effort to encourage the entire student body to contribute to BGSU.
Betty Montgomery '70 named BGSU trustee
Betty Montgomery '70 has been appointed by Gov. John Kasich to the BGSU Board of Trustees. She will serve a nine-year term, beginning Aug. 22 and ending May 17, 2021.
