2012 brings full calendar of events for alumni and friends of BGSU

The Wolfe Center for the Arts grand opening
Art was the focus at BGSU on Dec. 9 with the gala opening of The Wolfe Center for the Arts and the annual Arts X extravaganza in the Fine Arts Center.
Mazey installed as 11th president of BGSU
Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey was formally installed as BGSU's 11th president on Dec. 2 in a ceremony at the Stroh Center.

2011 annual report, Education Worth Celebrating, now available
BGSU's division of University Advancement, which includes the Alumni Association, publishes an annual report each fall detailing student and faculty success, the accomplishments of Falcon alumni and donors, as well as progress made across campus during the previous fiscal year.

Commencement ceremonies welcome 994 new alumni
BGSU held fall commencement exercises in the Stroh Center on Dec. 16 and 17. The graduation saw 994 students receiving diplomas, including 180 from the Graduate College.

BGSU names Dr. Rodney Rogers new provost
Rogers, interim senior vice president of academic affairs and provost at BGSU, was appointed to the position permanently in November. Prior to the interim appointment Rogers served as the dean of BGSU's College of Business Administration.

Falcon Forensics and Debate Team continues winning streak
On Nov. 5 and 6, the win was at Morgan State University in Baltimore, where the Falcons topped the tournament, beating Cornell University, Bloomsburg University, West Virginia University and 14 other institutions to take the top ranking.

BGSU exceeds expectations on graduation rate
BGSU is among a group of national universities that outperform expectations for student graduation rates, according to U.S. News and World Report.
